Previewing Your Newsletter
Before sending your campaign, it’s a good idea to carefully preview your newsletter. This way you can be sure the layout looks right, all links work, and your newsletter will be delivered correctly to your recipients.
Click the Check Newsletter button. A new window opens with two tabs.
Preview and test newsletter
On the Preview tab you’ll see the latest version of your newsletter. Use the icons in the top left to switch between desktop and mobile view. This lets you check how your newsletter will look on different screen sizes.
⚠️ Note: These views are indicative only. Unfortunately, there is still a lack of consistent standards across different email clients. As a result, the actual display may differ slightly from the preview.
It’s always a good idea to send a test version of your newsletter to yourself or a colleague. This way you’ll see exactly how it looks in a real email client.
To send a test, enter the email address under Send test newsletter to and click the envelope icon.
Recommendations
Besides checking the design, it’s important to make sure your newsletter is delivered to as many contacts as possible. For this, click the Recommendations tab.
SPF and DKIM
An SPF record authorizes mail servers to send on behalf of your domain. DKIM adds a digital signature to your newsletters, providing more certainty about their origin. Setting up these records and enabling DKIM signing increases your chances of successful delivery.
Inboxify uses an SPF record and signs your newsletters with DKIM by default. Still, it’s recommended to configure SPF for your own domain and add your domain name to the DKIM signature.
Inboxify checks here whether these are set up correctly. If you see a red cross, read this article for more information.
SpamAssassin
SpamAssassin is a well-known spam filter used by many email providers. When you check your newsletter, its content is automatically tested with this filter. For example, if you use a subject line in ALL CAPS, SpamAssassin immediately gives penalty points. This lets you quickly see which parts may reduce deliverability — useful to fix before you hit send.
