Generic or Role-Based Addresses
Most newsletter systems don’t allow you to import generic addresses. These are also known as role-based addresses and typically begin with terms like info, contact, or admin.
There are two good reasons why using generic addresses is not a great idea. First, the address is tied to a role rather than a specific person. As a result, it’s difficult to prove who — for example, from the administration department — actually gave permission to receive your newsletter. This increases the risk of complaints compared to using a personal email address.
Second — and this is a very important one — generic addresses are often sold by list brokers or scraped from websites. These contacts are not your actual customers, and since you don’t have their permission to send newsletters, you may not use these addresses in Inboxify.
Importing
We’re more flexible than many other systems, because we understand that customers often provide a generic email address — and we also have many clients who register using an info@ address. That’s why we check the ratio between generic and “normal” addresses during import. If the number of generic addresses is too high, they’ll be rejected, and you’ll see a message explaining why.
Manual entry
You're free to add generic addresses manually via the contact list.
